FAMILY:

My name is Judson Pierce. I am a 37 year old lawyer, married to a wonderful woman named Laura and together we have two great children, Ben who is 5 and Harper who is 2 years old. I work as an attorney in a small law practice in Salem, Massachusetts. I am a life long Massachusetts resident and have lived in Arlington since 2003.
   
   

LAW:

  • Trial Attorney Profession - For the last nine years I have represented injured workers in their claims for disability benefits.
  • Helping people in their communities and in need, get what they need when they need it the most
  • Working together with lawyers, lobbyists and legislators to revamp the workers comp system
  • Voting Member of the Board of Governors for Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys("MATA"); Chair of the New Lawyers Division for four years.
  • Speaker for Continuing Legal Education
  • Conducted Mock Trials at area public schools

CULTURE & COMMUNITY:

  • Commissioner to the Arlington Human Rights Commission, appointed by the School Committee in October 2008
  • Board member of non-profit Eastern Massachusetts Association of Community Theaters ("EMACT") - an organization dedicated to supporting and enriching community theater in the Eastern Massachusetts area.
  • Member of Arlington Historical Committee
  • Author of Greater Boston Community Theatre
  • Judged Lions Club High School Speech Competition, November of 2007 events.
  • Plays saxophone for a Lexington, MA based rock band and has played out at charity.
  • Acted in over 60 area community theater productions including 4 shows at the Arlington Friends of the Drama (Moonlight and Magnolias, 2009, Atticus Finch in To Kill a Mockingbird, 2007, The Laramie Project, 2004, WIT, 2005) Whether I am on the stage or living my real life, I have chosen plays that tackle big issues. Promote healthy discussions

  • Life long Democrat
  • Assistant to Senator Kennedy's Boston office, 1991
  • Assistant to State Senator Cheryl Jacques' Chief Legal Counsel, 1994-1995
  • Volunteer in National(Bill Clinton 1992, 1996) and State(Cheryl Jacques, Angus McQuilken, Sonia Chang Diaz, Douglas Petersen, John Keenan, John Burke) campaigns
  • Managed a candidate's campaign for Governor's Council, 2002

MEMBERSHIPS:

  • Active Alumni of Vassar College and Suffolk University Law School
  • Admitted to practice law in the Massachusetts courts and the United State Supreme Court
  • Member of the American Bar Association, Massachusetts Bar Association, Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys, and Essex County Bar Association
